House blessings (also known as house healing, house clearing, house cleansing and space clearing) are spiritual rituals intended to clear negative energies from a space, bring harmony and light, and protect the inhabitants from misfortune.

If you are noticing negative energies or feelings in your home: perhaps unexplained tiredness, arguing, a restless, listless or “down” feeling – it may be time to do a house blessing! Often, dark or negative energies or spirits gather like dust and can heavily affect the people living within.

House Blessings are highly recommended for moving into a new home after a divorce, death, break up or any life changing moments. However, if none of these apply to you, you may still benefit from a house blessing, as sometimes you just need to get the “stale” out and start off on a clean slate by removing old or negative energy out of the home. Similar to a “spring clean”!

A house blessing should be a celebration, so if you want, you can invite your friends and family and ask them to join in blessing your home.

If you’re moving into a new home or apartment and wish to bring in as much harmony as possible, it is recommended to perform some type of house blessing on your new residence. Locations can hold the energy of previous owners or events that have happened there, which is unlikely to all be positive and loving. While moving time is often stressful and busy, try to set one day aside before moving so that you can go to your new home and make your metaphysical preparations.

A house blessing can be a beautiful gift for a family moving into their new home.
